‘Lumière en contre-jour, Maîtrise du travail dans le mouillé.’
We learn to work wet-on-wet by smoothing the damp paper onto a Plexiglas sheet. We use masking fluid freely and as naturally as possible! This allows us to play with sharp and soft edges to create depth and preserve the highlights in the foreground.
My themes range from landscapes to studio scenes and industrial ruins. Doors and windows frequently appear among the subjects I offer! (I have a particular fondness for backlit views from the inside looking out!)
We will discuss drawing, composition, and framing…
We will approach watercolor using a *chiaroscuro* style.
White space will play a minor role, giving the painting greater impact and luminosity!
Learn to work wet-on-wet without the paper buckling!
Use masking fluid naturally and effectively without damaging your brushes!
In my workshops, I demonstrate my watercolor techniques using a wide variety of subjects.
