Workshop Objective

Share the fundamental tools and practices of managing water, paper, brushes and pigments to paint realistic portraits. The approach combines technical precision with a frustration-free space, ideal for learning from mistakes and enjoying the process.

Who is it addressed to?
At all levels. The course is designed so that both absolute beginners and painting professionals can get the most out of it.

Workshop Structure (Two Phase Methodology)
To make the most of face-to-face time, the workshop is divided into two stages:

Phase 1: Digital Introduction (Prior to the workshop)

The student will receive access to 5 preparatory videos to familiarize themselves with the materials and technique from home (equivalent to two days of work):

Watercolor materials.
ABC of watercolor (practical exercises).
Color catalog.
How to glue Arches paper to the board.
How to transfer the drawing to Arches paper.

Phase 2: In-Person Workshop (3 Days)
Starting from a photographic reference, we will apply direct and indirect painting methods (wet on wet, wet on dry and dry on dry), focusing on tonal values, volume, color and textures.

Day 1: Beginning and development of Painting
Map of tonal values (light, medium, dark).
Wet-on-wet technique (bottoms).
Color theory (difference between hue, value and chroma).
Wet on dry (general map).

Day 2: Theory, focus on Values
Management of the "Fear Card" (creative blocks).
Continuation of wet on dry, volume and transparent layers.

Day 3: Theory, Details and Closing
Dry on dry technique for final details.
Review and personalized feedback of each painting.
To ensure an optimal experience, I would use a monitor or projector for the theory presentations on the second and third day.
